Americans Give a Green Light for Spending On Mobility

United Business Media -- There are plenty of potholes ahead for America's transportation network, yet even as the price of gas rises, so has the public's understanding of the challenges of planning, prioritizing and funding the nation's infrastructure.

In fact, more than three-quarters (77 percent) of Americans agree with President Barack Obama that the federal government should increase spending to repair our crumbling roads, bridges and transit systems.

I'm having a hard time seeing any positive change in 150-200 year old cities were more people are moving out then in.

77% OF THE PEOPLE WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO SPEND MONEY, BUT WILL THEY WANT TO PAY FOR IT?

Of course 45% don't pay any federal taxes... so of course they say spend away.

keep revenues to pay for repairs, most just want new roads and lanes to get them where thet want to go direct and fast
