Stockholders who are suing their own company are drilling holes in their own boats. Even now the cause of unintended acceleration in a tiny fraction of one per cent of some models is unclear. It could be driver error in some cases. Toyota has worked hard to make mechanical and software fixes.

The more this story for Toyota recalls goes out, the more complaints will come in.
A majority of makers have a time like this, but most get through it. The amount of time that this case will last varies.

Toyota stock still has a value significantly greater than zero.
That can't be sold for such American icons as Enron, General Motors, and Kmart.

Bad investment advice. Invest in everything, both domestic and foreign.
We buy their stock. They buy our stock. It's a global economy. Get used to it.

I would not read too much into these lawsuits. Shareholder lawsuits tend to be less about disgruntled shareholders than greedy opportunistic trial lawyers. Such lawsuits if settled tend to result in millions for the lawyers and peanuts for the supposed plaintiff class. I've been in at least 2 such shareholder lawsuit classes and never seen a penny.

Why would anyone want to sue themselves? Maybe its a sign that they want Toyota to go bankrupt.

As long as the settlement requires that the shareholders receive 75% (before any deductions for attorney's costs and fees) of any settlement, then it is a good idea. If the lawyers get the lion's share of any settlement, then the court should not approve any settlement.

I guess the stock holders do not realize that class action suits only helps the lawyers, and that it will be paid our of your lower stock price and dividends if there is any to provide after the lawsuits!

Guess who pays for this folks. Yes it's you the shareholders. Congratulations. You are suing yourselves. This lawsuit will only serve to drive the stock value of Toyota even lower. Maybe Toyota should sue the shareholders for bringing this suit and further eroding company value.

Another class action law suit. The only people making any money on this one wil be the scumbag attorneys. Calss Action suits are the attorney retirement plan. All you hve to do is winnone and you are set for life. Look at John Edwards, who won the ambulance chaser of the year award presented by the South Carolina Bar Association. LOL. We need a constitutional ammendment barring Class-action lawsuits. Then medical costs weill come way down. With regard to haealthcare. yess the insurance companies are partly to blame, but the medical system, and the fact that hospitals have to treat so many illegals and others for free has a bigger impact. So now the new syste wil be that every American citizen ha to buy inusrance and the illegals will still get free medical care. I say treat once and put them on bus back home. Also, babies born in this country of non-US citizens shold not automatically be affored US citizenship.

lawyers and politicos can always be found where the money is...
they suck like a leeches or a Hoover Vac... drawing the tax blood from almost rock...
bathing themselves in luxuries @ our expense.. like dope dealers peddling...
& only we can decide when we've had enough to take the motions necessary to cure ourselves of these leech suckers.....

Wouldn't you know it. People make a very untimely business decision with their stock and instead of taking their own responsibility in making a bad investment, they sue to see if they can still come out ahead. I sure hope it gets thrown out of court.

Isn't that the American way. I'm also thinking of suing. I saw a Camary coming up behind me at a red light. It caused me great mental anguish because I didn't know whether it would stop. Now I don't think I can drive again. Not!!!!
